Videos

On July 19, 2011, I uploaded my very first video to YouTube. Titled 'CleanPoolWater,' it was a fifteen-second clip of my then seven-year-old brother speaking through an app called Helium Booth that distorted his voice. He said the following in an artificially lowered pitch: "Hello, my name is Timothy and I am a very deep mouse. I enjoy fishing and swimming in clean pool water. That's about it..." Bizarre—I know. To this day, the now-private video has amassed a measly two hundred views and two dislikes, presumably both from Timmy's multiple Google accounts. Still, for me that moment was transformative; The tremendous excitement I felt upon seeing my video as part of the YouTube community drove me to create much more content over the years. To this day, I wish I could call myself a YouTuber.

Since 2011, I've started several other channels, albeit with very primitive or non-existent editing software, to garner about two hundred thousand views from around the world. But only my first channel, 'Oblift,' ever served as a major portion of my identity. I was largely known throughout middle school by my online presence and peculiar stage name. Even my sixth-grade homeroom teacher, Mr. Chen, was familiar with my videos. So, I highly encourage you to take a look at some of my work, recent or old:
