Dinner Journal

From January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2017—a span of five years—I recorded what my family ate for dinner each night along with details like who cooked the meal; whether we went out, ordered take-out, or prepared food at home; the restaurant's name or person's house (if applicable); and lastly, a rating from 1 to 10. In total, I logged over eighteen hundred evenings' worth of dinners, representing one of my longest projects of all time. There's actually a lot of interesting statistical information to be derived from the table, including how my tastes changed over time (because the rating usually reflected only my enjoyment of the meal), but I have yet to pursue that research. Perhaps you can do it for me!

Guinness World Records Submission

In August, 2015, I attempted to create (not break) a Guinness World Record for 'dinner journal' by providing an example from the table and legitimate, timestamped proof that I had edited the document each night (rather than filling it in all at once with fictitious information). Alas, Guinness rejected my record six months later, citing a proposal that was "a little too specialised" for a body of reference that includes the most canned drinks opened by a parrot in one minuteIn case you're wondering, it's 35.
